About AI Rule Morph
A small, independent tool for people who use more than one AI coding assistant, or are moving from one to another.
Why it exists
Project rules for coding agents started as a single file per tool. Today there are several overlapping formats, each with its own way of saying when a rule applies. Copying text between them is easy; keeping the behaviour is not. AI Rule Morph converts the files and, just as importantly, tells you what it could not carry over.
How it works
- All parsing and conversion runs in your browser. There is no server-side processing and no account.
- Rules are read into a common model (always on, file-scoped, agent-decided, manual) and written back out in the target format.
- Format details come from each tool's official documentation, last checked on 2026-10-30. Each page links its sources.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't rewrite your instructions with AI. Text is moved and annotated, not paraphrased.
- It doesn't read your code or detect commands from your project.
- It isn't affiliated with any of the tools it supports.
